Welcome Speech for new members

                                                                                                      28TH APRIL, 2009

WELCOME SPEECH FOR NEW MEMBERS OF TIE - GROUP

Dear Tiegerians,

Welcome to the Group of Changes.

Years ago, in a remote institution, an idea was conjured up amongst like minds, first out of non-challant purposes and then later, now and the future for more achieving purposes. The idea was conjured up to bring change, that will positively affect personalities of all society caste.

It was made to ensure that the future would be promising, to try and protect the dreams of all caste of the society. The idea is TIE - GROUP.

TIE GROUP is an organisation that is meant to pioneer the essence of positive change in all society ramifications. It was begotten so as to assist those that saw a reason to bring about greatness in everything they do, to protect them if possible from the potential harms that may come their way due to their noble decisions.

The group has gone through many stages and reforms that seemed to have been withholding its progress on recent times now. But viewed from the perspective of the steadfast members of  TIE GROUP, we are gaining more knowledge due to the challenges we are facing.

I would like you the New Members to understand the state of the group. It is like a seed that has been Planted and has just begun growth after anchoring its roots. And since every member is a Stakeholder, I would want you to understand that we need but your physical, mental and financial prowess, whichever you can foster to keep the Group Growing.

Thanks

NWACHUKWU IKENNA
       PRESIDENT

University Scholarship Scheme

close

The University Scholarship Scheme, a programme run by SPDC on behalf of the NNPC/Shell/Elf/Agip Joint Venture, makes a quiet but very profound commentary on the company’s interest in the promotion of capacity building in the country.
Scholarship Applicants
Every year, more than 4,000 Nigerian undergraduates write aptitude tests to join the evergrowing list of students which Shell Nigeria supports in Nigerian Universities. The applicants are shortlisted on the basis of the national SSCE and JAMB examination results. This is followed by an aptitude test at the PortHarcourt, Warri, Enugu, Lagos and Abuja centres.

There are two categories of the Scholarship Scheme, the National Merit Award (NM), open to Nigerian undergraduates and Areas of Operation Merit Award (AOM), for students from communities in which Shell Nigeria operates. Only first year students are eligible for the awards in both categories.

An average of 16,000 applicants respond to advertisements by Shell Nigeria every year, inviting qualified candidates to apply for the scholarships which are tenable only in Nigerian Universities.

ALL UNDERGRADUATE TIEGERIANS ARE EXPECTED TO GRAB THIS UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY.
